Welcome to MAPC's Development Database!
In order to better track Metro Boston’s growth and forecast its future, MAPC Data Services maintains a Development Database with information about more than 3,000 residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects recently completed, in construction, or planned. Much of the data was submitted by municipal planning staff, augmented by MAPC research.
This database provides a unique insight into recent development patterns in the region, and can also be used to support future planning efforts. The database is a key input to the population and employment projections being prepared by MAPC to support the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan currently under development by the Boston MPO. MAPC also uses the Development Database to inform its local planning efforts, to identify regionally significant priority areas for development, and to track progress toward MetroFuture, our regional plan for sustainable and equitable growth and preservation.
The Development Database is a work in progress, which depends on contributions from public agencies and interested stakeholders like you. To get involved, create a user account so you can submit your own additions, corrections, and updates; or provide comments and suggestions about the site itself using the “Feedback” tab on the right side of your browser window.
